Most of us agree on the value of a inbound link to a sites success in Google. Even MSN and Yahoo use backlinks as a major part of the factoring that goes into ranking a site but have you ever thought of outbound links and their value? Yes I just said outbound. Do links going out from your site have any value other than that which is passed to the recipient of the outbound link? I believe they do. I believe that not only does Google factor inbound but also the outbound links from a site. I think you will agree after you have read this article.

I am a little late but thought maybe some of you might have still missed the latest scoop so here it is.  Many are obsessed with tracking their backlinks and some still haven’t gotten the idea that Google isn’t showing them everything using a Link: command.  We put together a simple link popularity tool that gives you your MSN, Yahoo and Google backlinks. It gives a more accurate number of backlinks than the site: command function yet doesn’t show you the actual links.  But now Google has added a tool to the webmaster center that allows us to track nearly all our backlinks in Google.

If you have been around any kind of forum too logn I am sure you have heard of the famous Google bombings such as “failure” and “miserable failure”. If not I had better explain before I thruoughly confuse you. A google bombing is when a person or group of persons builds up tons of links to a selected site with a given anchor text so as to rank it for that keyword. The problem with this is the site is usually very unrelated to that term and is usually done as a prank.

To combat this Google released an Algo Update which is supposed to work on stopping Google bombing. Will this effect any normal rankings we deserve? Will Google suddenly destroy all rankings for phrases that do not appear on the page it is ranking?
