ThreadWatch.org recently announced that they were hosting a Seo Contest for the phrase “Dave Pasternack”. As far as I know this will be the first Seo Contest hosted by ThreadWatch. From an update on the contest page I gathered that this contest was supposed to prove whether seo is easy, hard or in-between somewhere. My personal believe is that seo is definately not rocket science however does require a certain amount of experiance and alot of ambition, hard-work and patience. But contrary to David Pasternack youcan’t learn seo from Googles webmaster guidelines. You don’t need a college degree in seo and anyone can do it however not everyone who calls themselves an seo is really an seo. So my conclusion is that seo is easy to learn if your willing to read and learn however there is alot of false information out there which can get you side-tracked and it doesn’t happen over-night. Seomoz and seobook are two of my favorite seo sites.

Thats strange isn’t it? I am usually talking about Google and how to optimize, target and achieve high rankings in Google. There is an obvious reason for that. Google is the big daddy, the giant of all search engines and because of that has the largest number of web surfers however MSN and Yahoo still do exist and they also have markets. IMO MSN is the #2 search engine. MSN has been making some good changes and is getting closer and closer to a more relevant search engine. They are nowhere near Google and probably will never get to that point but I think as time goes on it will become more and more profitable to get high rankings on MSN. After saying all that this article will now discuss a fault in MSNs factoring values. A fault that can possibly mean the difference between nowhere and everywhere. I have spent time on many different methods or variations of methods for achieving high Google ranking success. I still hold to the belief that anybody can achieve any ranking on Google if they are determined enough. However I also believe that some rankings aren’t the best to start off with. Could you handle 50,000 visitors a day right now? Most probably not. I know when I started, that much traffic in one day would have killed me. The best way to conquer Google is to gain territory one piece at a time. What I mean by that is start off small with low competition keywords and spread out gaining as many as you can as you work your way up the ladder. If you start out too big you may get disappointed in the wait and drop out however if you go longtail at first as you grow you will begin a steady stream of traffic which will only increase overtime. And that is what this article is about. Long tail traffic can be the most profitable keyword targeting in the business. And keeping them is generally very easy.

Below I have compiled a list of seo tools I have found useful. I will be adding to these from time to time. If you have a suggestion for a new tool to be added please send me a note. Please keep in mind this is supposed to be a list of tools I have found helpful. It doesn’t mean you will. However I highly doubt you will go away without finding at least a couple new tools in my list. Please do NOT post this list anywhere else or I will be forced to take legal action. Thank you for respecting that!

The list ranges from the PageRank lookup tools to Keyword research to Adsense tools. It has a little of everything. Most of these are free or have trials. I added some tools such as the PR lookups that I don’t necessarily use but except for that I would recommend any of these tools. Again I would love to hear your feedback and suggestions for additional sites.
