Is Google a spam warehouse?

I have made similiar posts about Google and spam before which you can probably find if you go through the archives. But in this one I would like to use a spammmer himself to prove Google is not the evil giant which allows spam for Googles own benefit. Does Google contain more spam than other engines? What is it doing to get rid of it?
I spent alot of time reading and posting on seo forums. You’d be surprised how much false teachings are spread at some forums. But more and more you see these beligerent webmasters who insist that google is evil and is just one big blob of spam. Some even go as far as to claim google benefits by allowing these guys to use adwords. This is a outright lie and is spread by lazy or impatient webmasters.

These webmasters claim that Google benefits off from Adwords/Adsense spammers yet when reported they mysteriously disappear. Could it be that Google is not totaly perfect yet and doesn’t know every last site that is spam? Now that I said that I should also say that I do think Google is really good and finds alot of spam, alot more than Yahoo! or MSN ever find. And I would like to prove this by using a spammer himself. Thats right I am going to show you what a spammer says about staying in Google. Take a look at this thread over at DP: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=176646

Thy guy who started it is a black hat spammer who achieves rankings in search engines(mainly Yahoo and MSN) by spamming peoples sites, forums, blogs, guestbooks and any other form that he might be able to get a link out of. Yeah I know that is really low of him. This guy could care less of how much time we spend cleaning our sites of his garbage or of what it costs us but only of how much he can make off it. Guys like this are the ones that would run over you if they thought they could make money doing it or get something out of it.

But anyways back to the moral of the story. This guy registers and uses 100’s of sites for his spamming operations. He even went as far as to produce a program(which he advertises in his thread above) which automates the spamming process so all you have to do is click a button and boom we just send 5,000,000 spam comments to teh webmaster world.
But even this guy who is a spammer realizes that Google is really hard to beat. In one of his posts at the above thread he says that Google catches on to his sites quite fast and bans him that is why he focuses on MSN and Yahoo! most. Now I consider MSN and Yahoo! respectively #2, #3 so if Google catches on to fast and MSN and Yahoo! are his main targets exactly what search engine can beat google? Google can’t be that bad if a spammer like this complains that it is too hard to get into Google. I must admit he is a lazy guy and probably not as good as some BH webmasters(I hate puting those two words together) so there are probably webmasters who can get in google and stay a little longer but the fact still remains that these spammers are realizing that google is to hard to spam. They try and some appear to succeed but they themselves admit that they don’t stay around long enough to make much money.

It is also interesting that he sets up a program and sells it. If the program is so good just hire people to work for him and make all the money himself. I think he is beginning to realize there is more money in selling a program that spams than doing it yourself anymore. Even MSN is catching on to some of this spam and I think the day is coming when MSN will be alot more relevant in the search world.

Google has spam. You have to admit that. But is it really that bad? What percentage of the search world does Google command? 70-80+%? MSN and Yahoo! put together don’t make up the other half yet they contain a whole lot more spam. Google is so much bigger yet it contains alot less spam. I don’t see what there is to complain about. And if webmasters would just report spam when they see it alot more would be removed. I have had great success with google removing spam I report.

Report Spam to Google

Report Spam to MSN – On the bottom of every search results MSN has a link that says something like “Help Us Improve”. Click it and there will be a dropdown where you can select spam. Send the report. I haven’t had as good of luck with MSN removing spam as Google however they do sometimes. Just do it when you see it or compile a list of sites and then mass submit if you like.

Report Spam to Yahoo!Read this

When I have talked about reporting spam to search engines some say “well you will never get rid of it all”. Which is a totaly true statement but if I can illiminate 500 sites every month that are spam(we all can’t do that many atleast not every month) than I think I have done something. I have made the internet a little cleaner and maybe even got rid of a site that was competing with me or something :P . Ohh but MAKE SURE you never submit a competitor unless they are disobeying the search engines TOS such as MFA sites, spamming etc. If you do you will be put on the bad egg list which doesn’t do anything good for you.

Lastly whatever you do in the Webmaster World never do anything you wouldn’t do if search engines didn’t exist which would exclude black hat techniques. Don’t go black hat just because it is wrong but there are other good reasons such as there is more money in ethical sites than black hat ones. How many black hat sites are owned by companies like Wal Mart, JC Penny, Lowes, Sears or other large operations. I know most of these companies started before Search Engines and got big before then but that was because they were working for the people. Not to get off topic but lately sears harware has been crap. By lowering there quality of items and quality of service they are going to hurt for it. The same with webmasters. When they lower their standards just for money they will hurt. They will appear to be doing well but in reality they are always watchig their back waiting for someone to report them and all that work down the drain. Really I don’t see the life of a spammer as anything to admire. It seems pretty foolish to me.

If anyone is interested in achieving higher organic, ethical rankings in Google send me a email or comment. I would love to help such a person. If you know of any spam or come across it in any searches be sure to report it. What little good it does do it still good.
